The Ninety-Nines, an International Organization of Women Pilots, is devoted to furthering the education of the public about general aviation in particular and all aviation generally.

The group of pilots from the Dunes Chapter of 99’s are sponsoring an airlift at Gary Airport Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. in order to assist Wings of Hope.

Wings of Hope, Inc. is a non-profit privately supported and operated air transportation and radio communication service to isolated people in need in remote parts of the world.

The 99’s will be giving rides to the public at Gary Airport for three cents a pound. Some of the local women pilots taking part in the airlift are: Diana Austin, Mary Ann Bellafiore, Beverly Distelhorst and Barbara Jennings.
