Canada’s Snowbirds (including Capt. Gino Tessler of Joliette and Capt. Eric Dumont of Laval), the Ray Ban Gold aerobatic team, the Skyhawks Parachute Team and some 50 aircraft from around the world will all be part of one of the largest air shows in Canada, EXPO Air, which takes place this Saturday and Sunday at Mirabel Airport.
It’s organized by Wings of Hope, a non-profit charitable organization that provides pilots and air transport for medical evacuation, preventive medicine programs and community development projects for the underprivileged population in the Peruvian jungle and in isolated areas of Bolivia.
The air show will also feature a high performance demonstration by both the U.S. F-16 and Canada’s new F-18 Hornet. The Royal Air Force of Britain and the Luftwaffe from West Germany will also be participating.
Expo mascot Youppi will be on hand on Saturday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Admission is $4 per person. Children under 12 will be admitted free on Saturday.
