Chesterfield: Wings of Hope, a humanitarian organization that flies medical and other mercy missions throughout the world, will dedicate its headquarters Thursday at a hangar at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield.
The dedication ceremony will be at 11 a.m. There ceremony will feature a display of special aircraft being prepared for service in the Bahamas, Belize, Honduras, Indonesia and Liberia. Pilot Edward Schertz will discuss his experience flying into remote areas.
The new hangar is part of a $6.2 million expansion at the airport, which is owned by St. Louis County. Wings of Hope is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1962 by a group of businesses in St. Louis.
