MONTREAL (CP) – Air Canada Friday denied that it had completed a deal to sell 24 surplus Viscount aircraft to a Quebec-based charity organization.

An airline spokesman said the Wings of Hope Inc., which operates mercy flights in Peru and Colombia, has made an offer but other bids are also being considered.

“No deal has been concluded,” he said.

Wings of Hope Inc. had announced earlier that it had purchased the planes without revealing the price details.

The non-sectarian organization was founded in 1969 and provides services for 300,000 persons and 13 missions in the Amazon basin.
